Cleaning out my Empties

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Hello my skincare friends!

I’ve read quite a lot of these posts but never actually did one myself… I love reading about makeup and skincare products and I’ve tried plenty of products myself, so I thought this would be a fun post to write! This is my first and probably not last, empties post! Here I’ll write about the product, what I liked/disliked and an overall ‘would I buy it again?’ answer. I’ve been saving up and waiting to finish these products and I feel like I have a lot to say. Let’s get to it!

First off, the Seaweed line from The Body Shop: this is my second time buying these products and overall, they’re pretty good. They are a balancing line for oily skin and they do what it says but only to an extent. It’s not drying at all and I love how there’s SPF in the moisturizer but my skin was still a bit oily. One downside about these products is if you’re sensitive to smells, it’s probably not the right one for you as it is a strong seaweed smell.

Overall thoughts: they’re all good products, I would recommend but I probably won’t repurchase for a third time.

Second, No7 Total Renewal micro-dermabrasion exfoliator: Wow. I absolutely love this product and I would have to say it’s one of the best exfoliators I’ve used! You can see that I’ve tried my best to get the last bit of product out (and I bet there’s still more in there…) As with any other 20-something year old, I’ve had my fair share of acne and scarring. This product has definitely lightened any scarring I have but it’s still gentle enough on my skin that it doesn’t damage it. The exfoliating beads are really fine and a little goes a long way, I’ve had this little bottle for months and I used it quite often.

Overall thoughts: I will definitely repurchase and I highly recommend!

Mario Badescu facial spray: OK this product has seriously gotten a lot of praise recently and I can see why. It’s so nice on your skin, it smells lovely and it’s super calming. I have fairly sensitive skin and this spray calms it right down and reduces redness. I don’t have a whole lot to say about this one other than it’s a really lovely facial spray!

Overall thoughts: I picked this up on a whim and I’m glad I did! I probably won’t go actively looking for it to buy again but if I see it and need a toner, this will be the one I buy.

St. Ive’s Nourish and Sooth body lotion: With the winter being so dry and trying to have nice skin for summer, I was in desperate need of body lotion. I picked this one up because I’m familiar with the brand and oatmeal & shea butter sounded like a good match for my skin. This has seriously helped my skin go back to it’s glow and it moisturizes allllll day. It’s not a thick or sticky moisturizer either which is a huge plus in my books.

Overall thoughts: I’ve already repurchased and I love it.

Herbivore Coconut milk bath soak: This product is interesting and I’m not exactly sure how I feel about it… It’s a decent sized jar but it definitely didn’t last long, I’m not sure if I noticed a difference in my skin and it was quite pricey. I had high expectations because this brand is known for being amazing but this product just didn’t do it for me.

Overall thoughts: I probably will not be repurchasing but it was nice to try.

Danielle Illuminating face sheet mask: I love my face masks and Korean beauty has pretty much perfected skincare products. I really enjoyed this sheet mask (even if it looks weird) and I would have to say that I noticed a difference in the morning. I was really intrigued by this product because it says there’s pearl in it so I did my little google research on what that does for your skin and it actually has some benefits! It’s an antioxidant, it stimulates collagen production and is rich in amino acids and minerals. But if you’re interested, I’d recommend you do some research as well.

Overall thoughts: I really enjoy using this mask and it works, I’ll definitely repurchase and I would recommend.

Alright, that’s it for my empties post! I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed making it. I hope these little reviews have given you some insight to these products and if you’ve tried any of these, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Happy skincare-ing,
